The Protest by Spanish and Afghan Citizens Against the Taliban and in Support of Afghan Women’s Rights

A group of Spanish and Afghan citizens participated in a peaceful demonstration to express their support for the rights of Afghan women and girls and to protest the policies and restrictions imposed by the Taliban. The event brought together human rights activists, civil society representatives, women’s rights advocates, and concerned citizens from both Spain and Afghanistan.

Participants carried banners and placards calling for freedom, equality, education, and human rights. They expressed deep concern about the ongoing situation of women and girls in Afghanistan and condemned the restrictions that have limited their access to education, employment, and participation in public life.

Speakers at the demonstration emphasized that Afghan women have faced unprecedented challenges and severe limitations in recent years, depriving them of many of their fundamental rights and freedoms. They stated that denying women access to education and social participation constitutes a serious violation of human rights and undermines the future development of Afghanistan.

The protesters called on the international community not to remain silent in the face of these challenges. They urged governments, international institutions, and human rights organizations to take meaningful and effective measures to support Afghan women and to advocate for the restoration of their fundamental rights.

Human rights activists attending the event stressed that the struggle of Afghan women for freedom, education, and equality is not only a national issue but also a global human rights concern. They called for stronger international solidarity and cooperation to ensure that the voices of Afghan women continue to be heard around the world.

Participants also expressed their solidarity with women, civil society activists, and human rights defenders inside Afghanistan, praising their courage, resilience, and determination despite ongoing restrictions and risks. They reaffirmed that the voices of Afghan women must not be forgotten and that the international community has a responsibility to stand beside them in their pursuit of justice and equality.

The demonstration concluded with renewed calls for freedom, justice, equal rights, and respect for human dignity. Participants urged continued international support for Afghan women and girls and reaffirmed their commitment to advocating for human rights and equality in Afghanistan.
