Defending the Fundamental Rights and Freedoms of Afghan Women and Girls

Defending the Fundamental Rights and Freedoms of Afghan Women and Girls

One of the core objectives of the Afghanistan Women’s Movement for Equality is the protection and defense of the fundamental rights and freedoms of Afghan women and girls. This objective is based on the principle that women, like all human beings, are entitled to inherent human, civil, and social rights that cannot be denied or taken away by any authority, system, or group.

In recent years, Afghan women have faced severe restrictions in education, employment, public participation, and civil liberties. Many of their basic freedoms have been significantly limited or completely removed. In such a context, defending women’s rights is not only a civil responsibility but also a moral and humanitarian duty.

The movement works to amplify the voices of women who have been deprived of education, employment, mobility, and participation in society. It advocates for the recognition of women’s rights as universal human rights and emphasizes that no society can achieve peace, justice, or sustainable development while excluding half of its population.

Through advocacy campaigns, awareness programs, media engagement, and cooperation with human rights organizations, the movement strives to protect women’s rights and draw international attention to their situation.
